TECHNOLOGIES
Light up the invisible!

Watermark is a new embossing system to engrave rolls with combined engraving techniques; that means a combination of chemical and mechanical processes. It is a new technology that may fit several different products or materials.

For instance, the products that can be obtained with this new embossing technology can be made of tissue paper or other material such as non-woven in order to develop rolls, folded or unfolded products.

The Watermark production process consists in an innovative combination of the two classic engraving methods: chemical and mechanical. The tips obtained have a quadrangular shape with multiple heights and the density of the tips, chosen at customer’s convenience, can cover up to 100% of the surface of the embossing rolls.

This innovative production process is ecofriendly because the engraving height is mainly due to the mechanical process being more ecofriendly than the chemical one.

The most relevant aesthetic characteristic of Watermark products is the shaded never-seen-before 3D effect.

Moreover, it is possible to have glued areas alternating with areas without ply bonding.

Regarding the glue, it is preferable to use a neutral one, in order to obtain the best 3D effects and to emphasize the shades on the products.
